March Favorites

This is a little late but hey, its here. March favorites. I was such a bump on a log in March. I blame it mostly on the shitty Maine weather. In fact we have snow on the ground as we speak which we got yesterday!

So I have been wearing NYX Buttergloss in Tiramisu  almost every single day. I love the NYX Buttergloss's . I actually got mine at Target in a gift set so I got 3 for 6.99 when they normally are around 4.50 each. I bought every one they had on the shelf :) Also my Target now has NYX which is amazing because they are one of my favorite drug store makeup brands and they are so affordable!

I have also been loving and using daily the Hardcandy Primer I mentioned in my last post. I require a primer when I do my makeup. I am extremely dry because of my eczema so using a primer over my face cream just give me the extra moisture. I also have notice that I am not as oily at the end of the day. I am in a salon with the dryers going and I am moving around so with some primers I become greasy and look like my ass needs a shower! ASAP!

I have also been loving my Makeup Forever HD setting powder. I am so sad that I hit pan on this product. It cost me 26 bucks for a smaller compact. That is alot of money for a setting powder in my eyes that is so small. I have been told however that the E.L.F HD setting powder is amazing as well and is about 6 bucks. I am going to pick some up when I finish my Makeup Forever one.

I have also come to love the Big Sexy new blonde line that recently came into my salon. I myself am not blonde but everyone I have used it on has loved it! It just leaves the hair so soft and cuts the brass. I have used the shine spray and that shit smells so great... haha shit smelling great. It smells amazing and I actually prefer it over my Redken shine spray....shit.

Thats really it honestly. I have been really using my same old same old products, mostly due because I currently am on a "no buy" for makeup until I use up some of my stuff. Annoying because I see some exciting new Spring stuff and I want it! Guess that just means I need to wear more makeup :)

Thrift shopping

Thrift shopping can be the best and worst shopping experience in your life. You either find cool, trendy, unique and vintage pieces or you end up wasting your time shifting through clothes. I personally enjoy what I call the "hunt". Yes, while thrift shopping I feel like I am hunting for a rare animal! I always went to second hand stores as a child not because I wanted to but because my mom couldn't always afford new clothing. However it taught me that I could be dressed just as cool if not cooler than those who blew hundreds of dollars at the mall. Once I became an adult I went from going to Goodwill to going into second hand stores that sold higher end clothing. The method of finding perfect pieces was the same... I will forever be the huntress! Here are some key things to think about and do before you go on your thrift hunt. 1. See what you got!     Shop your own closet first. Do you have things that you never wear anymore? maybe to big or to small? If its in season...

E.L.F Disappointment

I am annoyed and disappointed! I LOVE my Makeup Forever HD setting powder and I have mentioned it in my past favorites but honestly I was looking for a cheaper alternative. I have seen awesome reviews for the HD setting powder made by E.L.F. I was not impressed with the packaging. I opened the box and took off the plastic cover, that day I used the powder was fine. The next day however when I went to open the container there was a mess everywhere. As a hair stylist I wear a lot of black and this shit got all over me! I was so annoyed with the powder being everywhere that I didn't even use the product. I'm sure it works great if you can get past the mess and horrible packaging... so that means I am still on the hunt for a hidef setting powder! Xoxo Samantha
