Thrift shopping

Thrift shopping can be the best and worst shopping experience in your life. You either find cool, trendy, unique and vintage pieces or you end up wasting your time shifting through clothes. I personally enjoy what I call the "hunt". Yes, while thrift shopping I feel like I am hunting for a rare animal! I always went to second hand stores as a child not because I wanted to but because my mom couldn't always afford new clothing. However it taught me that I could be dressed just as cool if not cooler than those who blew hundreds of dollars at the mall. Once I became an adult I went from going to Goodwill to going into second hand stores that sold higher end clothing. The method of finding perfect pieces was the same... I will forever be the huntress! Here are some key things to think about and do before you go on your thrift hunt. 1. See what you got!     Shop your own closet first. Do you have things that you never wear anymore? maybe to big or to small? If its in season...

Meet the kitties!

Since Matthew and I began dating he has always wanted a dog. Matthew would often see other peoples animals and say how much he wished we could have a dog. We cannot have a dog in our apartment due to the lease agreement but always said once we buy a house we would get a dog. Many of our neighbors had cats and even though Matthew always wanted a dog he began to talk about how he would like to get a cat. We were not supposed to have cats either but decided that since our neighbors did we would get one. Matthew then told me how he wanted to volunteer at the local animal shelter, I thought it was a good idea, there he would get to know the cats and find the "perfect one". The benefit of getting an animal from the shelter is that it came with all of its shots etc so for us it would be great! The next day after I got home Matthew said he needed to show me some pictures. I sat there with him and looked at the most adorable photos of these pretty orange and white kittens. I thought a...

Vegan ice cream?

I am not claiming by no means to be a vegetarian or vegan, but I can tell you that I LOVE BANANA ICE CREAM!!!! While watching one of my regular YouTube ladies named Breland AKA GlitterForever17. She is a spunky young lady. So I watched her make "vegan ice cream", and I can tell you that I ignored her recipe for a good 3 months! It wasn't until it popped up on my "watch again" list that I re-watched it. I have also been watching random vegan videos and vegan channels. I can tell you that I am mostly just curious with the vegan life style. So I gave this a try but I made it a bit different. Here is her link so you can watch her make this yumminess. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCl0Vpub9kTgBhGwGFd0rdfw She has more than one video so I would just check around. This is what I did I started by cutting up 4 bananas and and two mangoes and put them into a freezer bag.  I left them there over night. The next day I put all the cut up fruit into my Ninja Blender...

Fall nail polish colors 2015

Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the change in the leaves, pumpkin, tall boots, tights, sweaters, my list could go on. I am that girl who cannot stand chipped nail polish! It's a pet peeve. If it starts chipping then just take it fuck off! I also am a fan of the way shellac doesn't chip and looks good for longer than standard polish. As much as I love shellac I also do not like the way it leaves my nail feeling brittle and thin. As fall approaches our makeup gets a little darker, our clothes get a little darker, start the lowlights, so our nail polish also gets a little darker! Here are my top 5 fall nail colors for fall 2015. First is a nude color. During the fall I love a more deep nude. I love my sensational polish in the color taupe. Price for these babies is around 11.99 however this is a gel polish which you must use with a UV light. Second go to fall color is Sally Hansen Hard as Nails in the color Flirt. This color is a really deep  plum purple color and at 2....

So you wanna be a red head???

How do I keep my red hair “that red” is a question I get all the time. I must say that being a red head is as much and sometimes more work than being a blonde.  Some things you should be prepared for are; having everything white be stained either red or pink, touch ups every three weeks, comments (good and bad) and being stared at. Since I have become a redhead I have gotten more compliments and comments about my hair than I have EVER have in my entire life! However it is a lot of work to keep it looking vibrant and healthy is a lot of work.  Please consider the cost of up keep when you decide to go red. It chaps my ass when I see people walking around with faded colored hair looks like baby carrot throw up! GROSS! When I started I had colored hair that was a darker brown with some red highlights. I have tried many different brands of red and the l’ Oreal highlight HIGHLIGHTS for darker hair which I got at Sallys Beauty Supply. I applied with a bowl and brush starting abo...

April favorites 2015

I truly only have one favorite this month! I am obsessed with the Jaclyn Hill favorites palette by Morphe brushes! The colors are so beautiful, they blend well and at 27 bucks you cannot go wrong. I even love the more warm tones with the orangy browns...there are a lot of matte shades a few shimmers and one or two glittery shades. This would be a perfect gift for your mother! Wife or girlfriend. The color combos are endless and this could be your daily go to palette. This palette is also great for every skin tone and is so universal.  I highly recommend this palette! Failing at weightloss

Hello ALL!       I am posting this a little late because I had set a goal to be 200 pounds or less by the end of the month. I FAILED, not only did a fail but I gained a pound. At first I was getting down on myself, and I wanted to give up...it was in that moment while I was eating some cookies with frosting that I realized I did not really TRY. I did go to the gym a few times and I was doing ok. However late at night I would get into the candy and sweets. So instead of giving up I made a promise with myself. I want and need to be healthy for my children but mostly myself. I want to feel better. I need to feel better. I often eat out of boredom or when I am said. So my goal for May is to be down to 190 pounds, which I think is alot considering I failed my April goal. So I decided I wanted to just be under 200 pounds. I plan on taking the following steps to subside my endless nightly eating I tend to do. 1. I have made a list of things "to do" when I am feeling like eatin...
