Date Night Review- Hot Suppa!

So per our regular date night routine the husband and I went to a local hot spot in Portland called Hot Suppa. I work near by and have been wanting to try it for some time but was unable to convince myself to. So when the husband said that he was "taking me out somewhere" and we started walking toward the restaurant I could feel my inside getting all excited. Walking inside I discovered that the place was a lot smaller than I thought. Getting a quick glance I saw that there were about 15 tables, maybe less and a small bar that sat a few people. The husband had been watching BBQ specials on Netflix and was determined to get some great pulled pork so he already knew what he was getting. I on the other hand glanced over the menu and checked out the specials. I noticed that it was somewhat pricy being around 10-20 dollars per meal. We both order a drink special called creole something...I forgot. It was vodka infused with cranberry topped off with champagne, honestly the champagne ruined the whole drink for me. So when it came to ordering our food I went straight for the poutine, which was amazing!!!!! I then ordered fried chicken with collar greens. It took a little bit for our food to come out but fast for a Friday  night. It was also very loud in the restaurant but I did not mind. The husband got the pulled pork sandwich with corn bread and cole saw. The corn bread was extra but the cole slaw came with the meal. I loved my chicken, it was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The collar greens were perfect! My husband on the other hand did not like his pulled pork. The sandwich came with no sauce but they had three homemade sauces that you could choose from, he just didn't like any of the choices. My husband also did not like the way they cooked the corn bread, in a cask iron pan.The waitress was wonderful, my husband expressed not liking his food and without hesitation she offered to remove the meal. It is not that my husband hated the food it was just he was not used to the way it was cooked. I on the other hand loved the food and loved the cooking. The wait staff were wonderful and the restaurant was a cute little place which we both agree that we will be returning to.

Thrift shopping

Thrift shopping can be the best and worst shopping experience in your life. You either find cool, trendy, unique and vintage pieces or you end up wasting your time shifting through clothes. I personally enjoy what I call the "hunt". Yes, while thrift shopping I feel like I am hunting for a rare animal! I always went to second hand stores as a child not because I wanted to but because my mom couldn't always afford new clothing. However it taught me that I could be dressed just as cool if not cooler than those who blew hundreds of dollars at the mall. Once I became an adult I went from going to Goodwill to going into second hand stores that sold higher end clothing. The method of finding perfect pieces was the same... I will forever be the huntress! Here are some key things to think about and do before you go on your thrift hunt. 1. See what you got!     Shop your own closet first. Do you have things that you never wear anymore? maybe to big or to small? If its in season...

Ride or Die

I am a little late with the "Ride or Die" tag, but I have always done things on my own time. I cannot take credit for this tag, let us thank Jaclyn Hill for that! So trying to narrow this down was actually really hard! I often switch up what a use from day to day, however when I thought about it, just I try new thing but there are my staples that I go back to time and time again.  Enough talk on with the list.
