Evil little diversion....

Most people love when they think they are getting a good deal, I do, however when you are buying salon products from your local drug store you are being ripped off in more than one way. We in the industry call it diversion and it is killing the industry and your hair! When you buy these products you do not know what you are getting it could be anything, you think you are buying quality "shampoo" but it could be .99 cent shit they put in the bottle. Most salon products have labels that state "guarantee when sold in a salon" or something like that. Rite Aid is not responsible if anything happens, such as your hair turning orange, YES! it happens! When you buy salon product your stylist and salon are responsible for what the product does to your hair. It is like getting a filling at the dentist, if it falls out it gets replaced, same goes for products. So not only do you no know what you are getting in the bottle you are also getting ripped off. Most drug stores mark up the products more than a salon does. I went to my local drug store to prove the point... please see the following pictures.

So here as you can see is Redken a well known salon grade product. This picture was taken at my local Rite Aid. Please not the price 38.98 for shampoo and conditioner. Most salons sell these products for about 15-17 each. Already you are saving money. Around the holidays most salons have them in gift packs for about 22-25 dollars! oh the savings.

Now we have Matrix another well known brand, this is at the same store. This is even more expensive than Redken! Also please note on the back that it states "guaranteed when sold at a salon", however these sneaky little shits try to cover it up with there stickers!Selling for 42 bucks! YOU ARE BEING RIPPED OFF!!! I sell this same product both for about 25.00 dollars. Also when you buy from a local salon you are supporting local business which in the end helps your community. So STOP BUYING PRODUCTS FROM THE DRUG STORE!!!

Thrift shopping

Thrift shopping can be the best and worst shopping experience in your life. You either find cool, trendy, unique and vintage pieces or you end up wasting your time shifting through clothes. I personally enjoy what I call the "hunt". Yes, while thrift shopping I feel like I am hunting for a rare animal! I always went to second hand stores as a child not because I wanted to but because my mom couldn't always afford new clothing. However it taught me that I could be dressed just as cool if not cooler than those who blew hundreds of dollars at the mall. Once I became an adult I went from going to Goodwill to going into second hand stores that sold higher end clothing. The method of finding perfect pieces was the same... I will forever be the huntress! Here are some key things to think about and do before you go on your thrift hunt. 1. See what you got!     Shop your own closet first. Do you have things that you never wear anymore? maybe to big or to small? If its in season...

Ride or Die

I am a little late with the "Ride or Die" tag, but I have always done things on my own time. I cannot take credit for this tag, let us thank Jaclyn Hill for that! So trying to narrow this down was actually really hard! I often switch up what a use from day to day, however when I thought about it, just I try new thing but there are my staples that I go back to time and time again.  Enough talk on with the list.
